Every £ figure on Aveum's public pages is an estimate or an illustrative example. None of them is a guarantee, and none is a measurement from a particular customer's home. This page explains where the figures come from.
The savings calculator uses the devices, usage pattern and current tariff you select. It produces two things.
A quick estimate. It starts from an assumed annual energy cost for a typical home, adjusts it for the devices you select, and then applies a saving share to that cost. The share starts at 12%, grows with each device, and is scaled by your usage pattern: evening-heavy ×1.20, mixed ×1.00, overnight-heavy ×0.85.
| Input | Assumed annual cost change | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Typical home, before any devices | £1,400 a year | Starting annual energy cost |
| EV | +£680 a year | Adds to the starting cost; adds 14% to the saving share |
| Home battery | +£80 a year | Adds to the starting cost; adds 22% to the saving share |
| Solar | −£240 a year | Reduces the starting cost; adds 8% to the saving share |
| Heat pump | +£520 a year | Adds to the starting cost; adds 10% to the saving share |
The estimated saving is the assumed annual cost multiplied by the saving share, rounded to the nearest pound.
A tariff comparison. The calculator also estimates your annual electricity use from your devices (a base of 3,400 kWh, plus 3,000 kWh for an EV and 3,500 kWh for a heat pump, minus 1,500 kWh for solar, never below 1,500 kWh). It costs that use against the tariffs in Aveum's tariff catalogue and compares the result with the tariff you said you are on. When a tariff comparison is available, the calculator shows it in place of the quick estimate. Tariff rates in the catalogue may differ from the rates on your bill.
Figures such as the ranges on the Savings page, the tariff guide and the home page are illustrative examples for typical homes with the devices described. They are not measured results from customers' homes, and they are not personalised to you. Use the calculator for an estimate based on your own inputs.
Actual results depend on your tariff, your devices, how you use energy, and the weather. Prices change. Aveum is in early access and does not guarantee any saving.
Some calculator screens show a net figure after an illustrative subscription cost of £120 a year. That is an illustration only. Free during early access. Pricing will be announced before any charge applies. See Pricing.
